Me and Dennizon are trying the game out on the Henge of Denravi server.

Seek us under the usual names.. Dennizon and Albertus.

Or at the guildname Republic of Immortalis

Dennizon also plays under the other name Zedinnon.

Hails,

Just wondering (Those development guys still come from Blizzard ;)) Can European players play with the rest of the world on the same server? What version of the game should I buy? US or GB/EU or what exactly? How can we get on the same server? Is there an internet website where I can buy the right version? Just posting it so that everyone buys the right version of the game.

Can we build our own city in this game?

How about vocal communication (voicechat) during gameplay? Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Skype?

is it still fun for casual gamers (too busy for 6 hours of hardcore gaming, still willing to contribute to the republic.)

what kind of community (players) are there in the game? any RolePlay possible, or are they just gamers like in Guild Wars 1?

Can we battle all together at the same spot like in raids?

What about a guild vault?

Can we use our known banner or should we create a new one?

Which versions of DirectX are supported? Also 10 or just 11?

What about multichannel sound? what quality?

I really wonder how it will be. I missed gaming with you fine people.

Not sure. There is a guild option you can invest in called architecture so that at least looks promising.

How about vocal communication (voicechat) during gameplay? Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Skype?

No in game option. So it remains optional. For now i just do it old school

is it still fun for casual gamers (too busy for 6 hours of hardcore gaming, still willing to contribute to the republic.)

No hardcore gaming from me as well. No time for that anymore so its just for fun

what kind of community (players) are there in the game? any RolePlay possible, or are they just gamers like in Guild Wars 1?

All kinds. Although so far the level of WoW kiddies is amazingly low and some form of etiquette at least present

Can we battle all together at the same spot like in raids?

Yes, we can battle in a huge Word vs Word battlefield where you can claim and defend keeps and invade other worlds. Basically it is how DAOC 2 should have been.

What about a guild vault?

There is a guild vault.

Can we use our known banner or should we create a new one?

Which versions of DirectX are supported? Also 10 or just 11?

No idea but i guess all hardware info is on the site..

What about multichannel sound? what quality?

idem

I really wonder how it will be. I missed gaming with you fine people.

The game is amazing at first sight.

Btw it may very well be that the server we are on is full as well by this point. When the dust settles we will decide on a permanent home :)

Well a couple of days into GW2 i can tell the game certainly lived up to its hype. It has been a LONG time that a game/MMO of that quality was produced. In the mean time Phoenix joined us on the server as well and due to a generous donation by him we are on track to study t1 architecture.

I will post some pictures in this post later on.

Here made me feel nostalgic: Old Lions Arch ruins under the sea:

Hails.

It's indeed impressive, even on YouTube, where you can find videos of it. It's also compared with WoW. that one explained why 7 million people come from WoW to GW2!

Come to think of it... remember the post somewhere on Blizzard's site or elsewhere on the internet about a team of key developers who quitted Blizzard after that guild debacle? I am sure those are the guys at NCSoft now. I guess they finally got what they worked hard for. They will show the world that they are the best and STILL supporting GUILDS! ;)

Is this the server we will have our permanent home? Just let me know please...

So far there is still room on the server to roll on so at this point this will indeed be our homeserver.

Yesterday Freedom joined us on the server as well and earlier Phoenix found his way to us as well. He donated a tome to the guild that let us build our first upgrades quickly.

Yesterday I started to roam my homeland Ascalon ;) my my what did those beasts do to my country hehe.

After the dragons are defeated I have a score to settle!

They build their capital city on the ruins of Rin. Its where prince Rurik blew Stormcaller. The filthy beasts dragged Stormcaller into their capital city and put it on display as a token of triumph..

Allies.. yeah for the time...

Hails,

Saturday 1 september 2012 was my first day on Guild Wars 2. My first impressions

- Great video quality
- Amazing 3D graphics and physics (DirectX 10, so it will be even better on DirectX 11 or higher!).
- Audio even great on "low quality or medium quality" headsets (maybe even 3D audio, I don't know)
- Playable with nice quests, events and far less grinding than in other MMOs
- Nice own story thing with instances that gives you the opportunity to restart it over and over and get extra loot and exp until you finish it.
- Sudden events with consequences. e.g. Ignore an attack and the target is burnt to the ground forever.
- Death experience: you die, you have to go to the nearest waypoint you have TOUCHED. It may even cost you money. For the rest I haven't found a penalty not even on equipment or XP loss, but that might be different on later stages.

For those who do know me will ask how it is posible to play this game on that old computer I have (AMD Athlon XP2800 equals Pentium IV 2.0 Ghz SINGLE core 32 bit).

That's because I have built up a NEW PC through the months. It still misses some key components, but it works.

For those who would like to know it: here are some specs.

- Asrock Z68 Fatal1ty-TM Professional Gen3 motherboard
- Intel Core I7 2600K 3,4 ghz quadcore 64 bit 2nd generation with HD3000 graphics chip (DirectX10.1)
- 16 GB DDR3 (brand and speed unknown at this moment)
- several audio cards (at the moment I use ASUS Xonar U1, but that will change when videocard will arrive)
- ASUS Xonar HDAV Slim 1.3
- Creative SB Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional
- OCZ SSD 240GB best one
- 2 TB HDD probably WD
- Sony Optiarc BD burner with BD3D read option
- LG BD burner with DVD LightScribe (burn picture on special DVD in 1 color)
- Nexus silent Full Tower
- Hauppauge colossus card
- Acer 27" 3D Full LED monitor contrast ratio 100.000:1 or better
- Pioneer VSX LX70 for 7.1 Creative S750 speakers and better video
- silent keyboard
- general laser mouse

No lottery won, just months of savings and some tax refund.
I have selected the parts myself and let some experts put it all together. (I am not good at assembling things)
It took me over almost a year or longer.
It was NOT meant for gaming but for multimedia and internet business purposes.

So that explains how I can play Guild Wars 2.

I wonder what you think of it.

Question how can I make screenshots ingame?

I hope to see you all in Guild Wars 2 on the Henge of Denravi server! Albertus, Dennizon, Phoenix and I have a NICE time there.

For those who played Guild Wars 1 + Eye of the North.. you can link your Guild Wars 2 account with your GuildWars account and get some nice extras including a kind of tome that gives the guild extra possibilities. So if you find it please donate it to the guild, we'll make great use of it.

For those who wish to see the old city of Guild Wars 1 I would advise to take a dive and experience it under water. It's breathtaking! No worries for you have plenty of breath/air with a certain object every character gets upon creation, so no dying from drowning, but from being killed by monsters under water. I'd rather stay on land also in game.
