Dennizon

The void...We all feel it as strongly as the blood pulsating through our bodies yet we know it not.

Out of the void come the cries of chaos and the stench of evil.

The man Kreandel once was enticed by the void and the power that it emanates, yet he knew that all who approached the void were consumed by it.  However, something tugged at Kreandel's very soul urging him to transcend the bonds of the mortal mind and explore it's depths.  Upon the third night of thinking on the void, Kreandel suddenly found himself surrounded by a presence of evil, of power so thick that he began to plummet into it's presence; the presence of what he knew could only be the void.

Upon reaching what seemed the core of this being, this void, Kreandel became aware of unseen eyes and hands watching and sweeping by him, probing him, caressing him, he who was a live mortal and able to descend to these depths of the void; something they had never seen before.  Kreandel knew that his body was writhing in pain in the real world whilst his mind was bombarded with the things of the void, the evil.  These eyes, these hands.....they were the denizon of the void, and they were whispering incantations of some unknown origin.  Kreandel felt his very being begin to blur and screamed in fear, pain, and....loss as he realized that his soul was being consumed by these denizen.  All at once the incessant whisperings stopped, and without sound a voice resounded in the void with a magnitude that made Kreandel cringe.  "You are to be commended, mortal, at traveling this far.  Only a fool would come to the void, and it is fools upon which I prey.  You see, this is my kingdom, and also my curse.  I am forever doomed by the creator to live in this portion of the world which I defiled before being detained by powers no longer wielded by any celestial being.  I am the spawn of the rage of the power you call magic, and I encompass all that you fear.  The inhabitants of this void are my minions, my thoughts, the resonance of my power.  Despite all this though, I am still bound to this place, unable to leave for all eternity.  You will change that though.  Your body and soul are separated, but span the gap that I alone cannot cross.  I will use you as the vessel to transport myself to the plane of reality and leave this void for I grow weary of it after all of these eons.  Your life is mine now, and you will cease to exist mortal.  ENJOY THE REWARDS OF PROBING THE VOID! HAHAHA!!"

At that moment Kreandel was, the only way to put it, consumed by this being.  In an instant he felt himself spiraling outward, inward, and splintering into an infinite amount of fragments and soaring to a destination that he could only assume was out of the void.  Suddenly, Kreandel was one with his body again, and feeling something only to be described as fullness.  His body was burning hot and his heart palpitated with the energy of the being inside of him.  Suddenly, he heard an enraged roar in his own mind followed by these words...."NO!  This cannot be!  The mortal has encapsulated me within his being!  I...I...I am unable to break free....My powers are melding into him...I....I..........."
And that was it.  Kreandel realized that the being had become one with him and he had triumphed in the process.  All of the being's power was his, but he maintained control over his soul.  Kreandel marveled at the power he felt within him and suddenly realized where he was.  His home was no longer, nor were the lands around him the same.  How long had he been in the void?  Even his clothes were gone, reduced to dust around him on the floor.  He was....immortal.  The being's immortality had been passed to him as well.

Days passed as Kreandel meditated, trying to come to grips with who he had become.  He felt he was no longer himself and that the man Kreandel had long passed away after his trip to the void even though his body lived on.  He remembered the trip quite vividly and felt chills as he recalled the denizen of the void and knew them now to be the emanations of the being that had become one with him.  He suddenly realized that, now, he too was a product of this great being's passing and the eerie realization came to his mind that he too was now one of those denizen.  From that point onward he knew his identity to be Dennizon and went out to explore the world that had changed so much with all of this passing.  The first man that he came across was one known as Lord Mystic, and the two fought at first sight.  The only explanation for this that could be was the evil that resided in him for the being in the void.  Dennizon realized this and shuddered in disbelief at this work so totally of the being and not of his own.  He once again sought out Lord Mystic and sought counsel with him.  Together, they compromised and, after Dennizon made it clear that he wished to exercise control over his own self, he was excepted into a clan of which Lord Mystic was a leader....the clan Immortality.  Dennizon quickly progressed in the clan and in furthering his honor became a member of the elite Council Guard.  He felt that in this position he would be able to exercise these powers and serve a noble purpose all at the same time.  To this day, Dennizon holds this position, and proclaims to all that would spawn evil that he will be their nemesis.  In this way, Dennizon retains who he was as a mortal.
