Weapon: a nice hammer or sword with about 100 damage, as fast as possible, see if you can get some leech on it. 150+ will be more likely in the x-pack.
Armor: A nice armor, with some defence and life if possible, try and get some resists, dexterity is also a nice thing to have, so is fastest hit recovery.
Shield: Sigon's guard increases your skills by one and has high block rate but later on a 3 perfect diamond tower shield could be nice with holy shield also a nice other shield with resist/life/dex/mana or anything is nice.
Helmet: A nice helmet with defense and/or life/dex/mana/resist/hit recovery. Circlets can have all sorts of things on them like leech, skills and such so they are pretty good.
Jewelry: Something with leech and resist would be nice, mana and life are nice also and a +1 or +2 paladin skill amulet with some of the above is really nice.
Belt: Same as with helmet, the unique goldwrap which increases attack speed is nice also. Or nightsmoke since 50% damage goes to mana keeps your mana up and that can be a problem with an avenger.
Gloves: resist,defense,mana,life and sias are nice attributes on gloves.
Shoes: fastest run is recommend since it increases the speed of charge, also hit recovery/resist/life and mana would be nice.
