Below is an explanation of the ranks system written by our noble ex-councilor Lord_Mystic~[I], new members will automatically receive the lowest rank in the system and by doing quests they may earn points to receive a higher rank. |
Please note that the Tags in this page are for Diablo1. Diablo2 users should use the ~(I) tag on their account and the _ROI tag behind their characternames. This was decided because you can't change your character's name in a closed game and therefore each time you get promoted you'd have to start with a new lvl1 character. |

The high council rules Immortality. In the council is room for five councilors. Every councilor has a different task. The council performs all government tasks. The council will also react on the reports of Dukes with advice and seldom with orders. the council will update points and ranks, rank-promotion always has to be accepted by the council before they can be performed. A councilor can also recruit if he recruits a member he is given the choice about which court he will join. Each quest item has to be checked by a councilor, councilguard or a duke. |
The councilguard is a small force and protects the republic. Councilguards are also allowed to check quest items. The first-knight of the councilguard reports to the council (primary contact = The councilor of the Council Guard). The councilguard is the only position of which it's members can be provided with weapons and money by the council. A councilguard must be at least lvl 20 and a knight. If a member applies to the CG he/she will be interviewed by the First Knight and the Councilor concerning the CG about his/her motivations for wanting to become a CG. If this interview is successful the new CG will be on probation for a month. After this month the First Knight and the councilor of the CG will evaluate this person and if this evaluation is good the CG hopeful will have to do a difficult quest. This quest is secret and only known in the CG. After successfully completed this quest he /she will be a full member of the CG. Also a councilguard cannot be inactive if a member of the CG is inactive he will be removed from the CG. |

The First Knight will be responsible for the daily things in the CG. He/she will have a large part in reviewing apply requests from potential hopefuls who want to enter the CG. The First Knight is also the first person who must be contacted in times of trouble by the members of our clan. Nobility will have to speak with the First Knight first when dealing with minor problems such as PK''s. In addition the First Knight will be a member of the Warcouncil in times of war. As such he/she will be a contributing in the military affairs when at war. Second if a member applies to the CG he/she will be interviewed by the First Knight and the Councilor concerning the CG about his/her motivations for wanting to become a CG. If this interview is successful the new CG will be on probation for a month. After this month the First Knight and the councilor of the CG will evaluate this person and if this evaluation is good the CG hopeful will have to do a difficult quest. This quest is secret and only known in the CG. After successfully completing this quest he /she will be a full member of the CG. . |

Points: 0-4000 Quests: all standard quests
A real young child of a nobleman. In the first step of his learning process to a respected noble he's no more than a servant in the castle. Each new member starts as a pageboy. When he joins he will automatically placed in the piece of land of the one he was recruited by (only nobles with land are allowed to recruit people) unless the noble already has 4 other pageboys. If he's recruited by a High Councilor he may decide which court to join. (Each member has to join a court) A pageboy has to reach the squire rank within one month of joining or else he/she will be removed from the member list. Pageboys will NOT be counted towards the member limit of the clan. Only squires and up are counted as full members.
Points: 4000 - 12000 Quests: all standard quests
When a pageboy is old enough he becomes squire. A squire is the personal assistant of a knight. A squire takes care of the horse, plate, helm etc of a knight in exchange the knight teaches him in the ways of chivalry and in the ways of fighting. As a result of this a squire receives 20% of the points his knight receives (the knight keeps receiving 100% ). A squire doesn't have to be an assistant of a knight, he also may go further without having a knight as his master, but then he will miss the 20% bonus of his knight's points.
Diablo1: When a Squire has 12000 points, he/she has to pass the promotion quest before he/she can be promoted to knight. The promotion quest will be the following: the squire has to create a lvl 1 char. He/she may buy anything he wants from the 100 gold pieces in town, then go to the Dungeon and clear level 1. Then he has to go to level 2 and when he kills the butcher he's promoted to knight. A councilor has to be in the same game and check if he/she doesn't cheat and if he really passed the butcher. The squire may try this as long as he/she wants, but only once/1 time a day (and if there is a councilor available) Diablo2: When a squire has 12000 points, he/she has to pass the promotion quest before he/she can be promoted to knight. The promotion quest will be the following: the squire has to create a lvl 1 Hardcore char. He /she may buy anything he/she wants from the gold in the inventory. Then the squire goes to the Graveyard and kill Bloodraven. It is forbidden to enter the town again. A councilor has to be in the same game and check if the squire doesn't cheat. Furthermore this promotion quest will only be available with a realm character. The squire may try this as long as he/she wants, but only 1 times a day (and if there is a councilor available) |

Points: 12000 - 24000 Quests:All standard quests, and 500 points if he trains a Squire to Knight.
Extra: May switch from master once but will suffer a 1000 points penalty for doing so.
A common knight is a fighter with no land that's serving his master ( A Baron, A Count or A Duke ) A knight has one squire in his service. The knight teaches the squire the art of chivalry and fighting in exchange the squire takes care of the horse and weaponry of his master. A knight receives a +500 points bonus when his squire is promoted to knight; this is done as a reward for teaching. A knight can be promoted to baron if he has passed the following requirements: he has to have enough points (24000) AND there HAS to be a barony for him to rule. In addition the council MUST approve of the promotion. If there is no county without a ruler available; the knight has to wait for his promotion until there is one available. A knight can also switch from one master (duke, baron, count) to another (something squires and pageboys cannot). However if a knight wants to switch he already has to have earned 1500 points as a knight already. Switching can only be done 1 time and the knight receives a -1000 points penalty when he does so. A knight is also the only character that can join the council guard (see council guard for more info). If he decides to join the council guard a knight can NEVER be promoted to baron or higher anymore. Furthermore a knight (and up) has the right to assist in defending a fellow clansman/woman when facing the tribunal.
A baron has to show him/herself to the council with at least a lvl 5 Hardcore Character in addition of the other requirements. |
Points: 24000 - 48000 Quests: All standard quests,+200 every 2 weeks in taxes and +500 for training a squire to knight.
A Knight that has a few acres land; he has not much land or men but he has some; a baron has a strengthened farm (Keep) to keep his court at. (the baron has to give his keep a name, this name will be put on the map) At the court there are knights, squires and pageboys that are in service of the baron. A baron can keep the following characters at his court: A maximum of 1 knight + a maximum of 2 squires (1 for the knight 1 for the baron himself) limited number of 4 pageboys. A baron is allowed to recruit characters. If a baron recruits someone the recruit (each recruit starts as a pageboy) automatically will be placed in his court. Unless the baron has already 4 page-boys in his/her court. To make a recruiting valid the baron has to send the character name and e-mail address of the new member to the council. The recruiting is valid as soon as the baron receives a reply from the council that says the new member is accepted. A Baron reports the things happening in his barony to the duke of the shire his barony is located in. As soon as he has enough points (48000) and there is a county without a ruler the baron will be promoted to Count. In addition the council MUST approve of the promotion. The baron then moves from his baron to a county that has no ruler at the moment; there will be appointed another ruler for the barony. A baron can earn points by any of the standard quests. He will receive the +500 points squire becomes knight bonus (see knight) .Each two weeks a baron also receives +200 points as taxes from his civilians. (civilians are not mentioned in this system so there won't be any character that will lose points because of this). Also a Baron receives 1200 points each 2 weeks to distribute among the members in his barony, he will do so by making his own quests which will be made public on the site and to award the members who have completed these quests. Furthermore a Baron (and up) has the right to assist in defending a fellow clansman/woman when facing the tribunal.

A count has to show him/herself to the council with at least a lvl 10 Hardcore Character in addition of the other requirements. |

Points: 48.000 - 96.000 Quests: All standard quests, +500 in taxes every 2 weeks and +500 for training a squire to knight
A Count is a greater version of a Baron. The difference is that a count rules a county (also in a shire ) instead of a barony; the keep will be upgraded to a castle . Because of this the count also can have more knights, squires and pageboys at his court. A count is definitely NOT the master of a baron a count just has a county instead of a barony more men at his court and a castle instead of a keep and also a higher title and a greater area to control. A count can keep the following characters at his court: A maximum of 2 Knights a maximum of 3 squires (2 for the knights, 1 for the count himself) + a limited number of 4 pageboys. A count can also recruit (see the baron for how recruiting must be done). The recruit will start as pageboy at the court of the count unless there are already 4 pageboys in place. A Count reports the events in his county to the duke of the shire his county is located in. A Count can be promoted to Duke as soon as he has the following requirements: he has to have enough points (96000)AND there has to be a shire that's without a duke. In addition the council MUST approve of the promotion. If there is no shire that's without a duke the count has to wait for his promotion until a shire is without one. If he promotes to duke he has to leave his county; because he now owns a complete shire and he can't combine that with the ruling of a county. To rule his former county a new count will be appointed to do this. A count can earn points by any of the standard quests. If his squire becomes knight (500 points, see knight for further info). Each two weeks a count also receives 400 points as taxes. (see baron) the count gets more taxes than the baron because a count rules a greater realm and has more people. Also a count receives 1600 points every 2 weeks to distribute among the member of his county, to do this he will make up his own quests which will be made public on the site and and award those members of his county who complete those quests. Furthermore a Count (and up) has the right to assist in defending a fellow clansman/woman when facing the tribunal.

A Duke controls one of the 5 shires in the republic. The duke is fully responsible for the counties that are located in his shire. However a Duke will only give straight orders to the Barons and Counts in his shire (not the court members of these nobles). Each Duke has a massive castle called a duchal palace. Because of this he can have a larger court. A Duke can keep the following characters at his court: A maximum of 4 Knights + a maximum of 5 squires (4 for the knights 1 for the duke himself) + an limited number of 4 pageboys. A duke is also allowed to recruit. (see baron & count). Each new recruit will starts as a pageboy at the court of the duke unless the Duke has already 4 page-boys in his/her court. A duke reports the events in his shire to the council. A duke can become councilor as soon as there is a place available in the council. However if he becomes a councilor he will lose his rank and shire; this is because councilors don't control shires they are responsible for all common government tasks and can't have any further rank. A duke can earn points by any of the standard quests. Also if his squire becomes knight. Each two weeks a duke also receives 1000 points as taxes (see baron & count) Also a duke gets 2000 points each 2 weeks to distribute among the members in his shire. He will do so by making his own quests and award the members in his shire for completing these quests. These quests will be made public on the site The Duke also has the right to check all general quests from the subjects in his shire. However he/she cannot check general quests from inhabitants of another shire. The Duke also has the right to make 3 special shire specific medals/awards for his/her subjects. The medals will be published on the site and must be in place for at least 6 months. Furthermore a Duke has the right to assist in defending a fellow clansman/woman when facing the tribunal

The crusader is a member who joins an army to free part of the conquered shire of Immortality , our former home. Because of his/her absence the crusader will not be counted as an active member. However when the crusader returns he/she will immediately receive his/her previous rank of Knight. Only Knights may go on 'crusade' if a higher rank is involved he/she will demote back to Knight. The council will decide which members can become crusaders but amongst other things the following reasons may be valid; RL sickness which makes it impossible to play for a while (longer then two months) , RL family tragedy and other serious RL problems that makes play impossible. An other reason can be a very important member who has done much for the clan in the past that for whatever reason is not active enough to be counted as a full and active member. Once every two months the crusader has to report to the council that he/she still wants to stay a 'member' of the clan. It is not allowed to be a crusader and be a member of another Diablo clan. Failing to uphold these rules will result in the 'death' of the crusader in his/her attempt to free the land. In times of war the crusader will/can come back to assist the clan as protecting the clan may be more needed then freeing our former home. The crusader may wear the clan tag and have any other right a normal member has although he/she may NEVER be promoted while on crusade. Please note that this rank in the ONLY rank that you cannot strive for yourself but will be only obtained through by discretion of the council.

When a member reaches the rank of knight he/she has the right to wed anyone of that rank and higher. When the spouse has a higher rank the Knight will get the higher rank. But naturally he/she will not get a court of their own. The couple lives in the same court. Therefore when both are knights they must serve the same noble. When one of them has
already a court the couple will live in that court. When the marriage is between 2 nobles the couple will live in the higher court. The court of the lower noble will be abandoned. But
off course when the couple divorces ,the noble with the lower court will get the land back.
When the couple divorces ( The higher rank will play on in our clan) the original rank will be given back( or the leaving party must have earned enough points her/himself to hold on to that rank). When the higher rank leaves the clan or stops playing diablo the lower in rank will hold on to the higher rank*. When the marriage concerns a Duke the couple may not check each other's quests. Its not allowed for the the council to marry as it potentionally unbalances the independence of each councilor. However a Council Guard may marry as soon as his/her spouse is also a knight or higher. However a Councilguard may not check his/her spouses quests and there will be no rank changing. So each partner will hold on to his/her rank. Needless to say because of the feudal role-play it is forbidden to marry a clan member of the same sex. All weddings will be evaluated by the councilor of clan-activities and the councilor of internal affairs. Furthermore a member may not marry another member when they are already married to another member of our clan. Even if this member uses another alias to play with or uses two aliases at the same time. *example1; Knight Spartacus~K(I) marries the Barones Cleopatra~B(I). Knight Spartacus will then get the rank Baron and lives in the barony of Cleopatra. He will get the right to wear the ~B(I) tag. However because of troubles in the marriage the couple divorces. Baron Spartacus will then revert back to his previous rank *example2; Barones Cleopatra~B(I) marries Duke Cyclope~D(I). Barones Cleopatra will then become a Duchess and has the right to wear the ~D(I) tag. She will abandon her court (it will be available for another member) and starts to live in the higher court. Because of RL troubles Duke Cyclope~D(I) leaves the clan. Cleopatra then takes over the court and holds on to the rank. *example3; Baroness Cleopatra~B(I) marries Duke Cyclope~D(I). Baroness Cleopatra will then become a Duchess and has the right to wear the ~D(I) tag. She will abandon her court (it will be available for another member) and starts to live in the higher court. Because a Duchess and has the right to wear the ~D(I) tag. She will abandon her court (the marriage doesn't work anymore the couple decides to separate. Then Cleoplatra will revert back to the rank of Baroness and will get a barony to live in. *example4; Councilguard Scipio~{I} marries Baroness Cleopatra~B(I). The couple will be married but CG Scipio~{I} will not get the rank Baron. In addition if Cleopatra was a Knight she will not receive the rank of councilquard automatically and has to apply to the Guard herself. |

Elder: |
People that were a
councilor once but not anymore will be given the rank: Elder. If the
ex-councilor still games and has an in game rank it will show both ranks
on the forum. However, the Elder rank can never be lost. An Elder can be a
crusader as well. His title will be Elder then as it takes precedence over
the crusader title . If a councilor does not game at all and is no
crusader like in actives he/she can use the ~E[I] on game forums or any
other game division forum.
An Elder has the Elder rank as long if he/she is inactive in a specific game. As soon as an Elder goes active again, he RETAINS the honorary rank elder but can choose the following. 1. He becomes a CG is there is an active CG division. 2. He becomes a BARON and gets a court. In BOTH instances he keeps the Rank Elder. However when applicable his active tag will reflect the in game title. The "rights" of an Elder is to give advice to the council when needed. The title gets no real power in the clan, but of course people that are elders have to be respected by the members for their past efforts. There will be made NO distinction between how long someone served, who he/she was and the circumstances of leaving (one exception can be made if an ex-councilor did harm the clan). When an Elder comes out of retirement he/she will be given a nobility title of Baron due to his/her former contributions to the clan if he/she so desires. However any other title can be given to Elders in cooperation with the Council, at the High Council's discretion. |
