Paragraph 16: The Gift

Warmth, love and happiness. Kitana never felt this forfilled in her entire live. All around her people were laughing, children playing and in the distance a beautifull castle was visible. “I must be dead” Kitana spoke soflty to herself as she saw a group of people moving her way. As the group came closer she saw a woman in their midst who emminated regality. The woman smiled at her and began to speak. “Noble lady, you are more then welcome here. Its been quite a while since we had new visitors here but you are more then welcome as your heart is pure and your soul a noble one”. Kitana looked at the face of the woman. She saw a mid age woman with a friendly face, her eyes radiated calm and the rimples around her eyes betrayed much laughter. “ Where am I? I must be dead.” Kitana asked her. “The woman laughed and answered. “ No dead is not the word. Once I forsaw the end of my live and my Kingdom. I sought out the greatest wizard of them all and he gave us this gift. While sacrificing his live to do so he put a spell on this forest that made it possible for all my people to survive here. So only the buildings remain in my old realm but the people are save here. Kitana looked at her in confusion. “ But I died. The last thing I remembered was slipping away. Surely this must be the afterlife” The woman looked at her with kindness in her eyes. “ No, not yet. Your body still lies on the other side. In time it will whither away and you cannot return from here ever again. But as you can see why should anyone want that”. Kitana looked around and understood completely what the queen said. “ How can I call you fair queen?” She asked. The queen laughed and replied. ”Just call me Anna.”
Both woman walked along a small river. The queen looked serious as Kitana was frantically telling the events that recently transpired in the Republic. After Kitana was finished the queen looked in silence to the horizon. After a while she turned towards Kitana. “Young lady, there is perhaps a way to counter the spell as the spell that saved us is not that unsimilar as what the Republic needs. In our case only the buildings remain in your case only the people remain. The magic involved has the same fabric although ours is good magic and you suffer from back magic.” Kitana looked up and felt some hope grow. “So, I can be done?”. Yes it can be done, however not without sacrifice. The wizard had to use his whole life essence in making the transition for our people possible. And he died while casting the spell. Although dead materials costs far less to transform it will not be easy and can only be done out of complete love and self sacrifice. And the effects are not predictable. So I do not know what will come of you when you proceed with it”. Kitana looked her right in the face and replied. “For a chance to save the Republic I would do anything”. The queen put an arm around her and both woman looked at the small river together.

Paragraph 17 : Resurrection

“Look, her hand is moving” Lord Mystic pointed out to his friend. Lord Jurek looked back towards the simple brancard both man had made from braches to carry Kitana’s body behind their horses. “You are right”. Lord Jurek answered and both man dismounted to check on their friend. Astounded they were greeted by Kitana who spoke softy. “ My friends, I am so happy to see you here.” Lord Mystic was the first one who got a grip on himself and forced himself to reply. “My dear friend, we thought you were dead.” And full with thanks took Kitana’s hand in his own. Lord Jurek also was overcome with joy when he realised that the friend they hold so dear was’ t dead after all. “What happened?” Lord Mystic asked. “A miracle, nothing short as a miracle” Kitana spoke sofly.
“My lord, my lord look, look!!” The young man entering the chamber of Albertus forgat somehow all the etiquette and took the old man by the arm to a window looking out to the west. Albertus looked out the window and first saw nothing. However in a moment or two he realised why Tuinon was so enthausiastic. Over the treetops Albertus saw , the roof of the Great Hall of the Republic. Outside the library he heard cheers and he suddenly realised the impact of this and had to fight of tears. “Kitana must have been succesfull.” He though aloud. “ By all the Gods, she must have been succesfull.” He uncharacteristically embraced the young man standing beside him and speeded towards the chambers of his fellow councillors. In the hall he met Dennizon as he was running towards his friend and both man looked into eachothers eyes with great relief. Quickly they ran towards the courtyard of the libray where Ghostkillah, Duke Dragonking and his future wife to be the fair lady Dragonqueen already were celebrating amongst many other nobles and commoners alike. In the corner Duke Holywolf and his knights were celebrating with the Council Guard and Braveheart and Tomomot were in happy discussion with Dannato. Ghostkillah move towards his fellow councillors and the three of them moved towards the fountain in the midst of the courtyard. Ghostkillah began to speak. “ My fellow Immortals, the dark time seems to be over. We have sended out scouts to all directions to see if our homes have returned but preliminary results indicate that all our homes are returned or are in the process of doing so.”. The crowd cheered and the song of the Republic was suddenly sung by all with proundess and happiness at the same time.

Paragraph 18. The sacrifice

“I cannot go back to the Republic”. These words rang through Lord Mystics head as a knife. After the initial joy of Kitana’s coming back she explained the best she could what had happened to her. It was a difficult tale and Lord Mystic had trouble believing it all. However Kitana seemed completely certain and serious. “I have given more then I know to end the evil spell. And I have to go and find what I have lost. So my friends please take me with you so I my find what I have lost in strange and foreign lands while still serving the Republic”. “ But you are a councillor as we once were. You cannot be missed.” Lord Jurek spoke to her. “I have no choice my friend. It was the price I had to pay. You words , how well meant, cannot undo that. I have paid for the survival of the Republic and it was a small price. However I cannot be councillor to our grat republic anymore so please consider me as an compagnion noble Templars. Both man looked upon eachother and while not saying a single word changed direction from moving towards the Republic towards the south.
