Hearing of the d2 remake recently made me wonder if there were still any traces of immortality. After a quick search I stumbled upon this forum.

If tere are still any of you oldtimers around drop a line and maybe we can hook up in a game somewhere.

Ah good to hear from you Silencer,

Well, it is amazing to me to realize most of us are getting in their 40'ties or 50'ties even as we started to game in 1999! My son was not even born then and now will be in his twenties at the end of this year.

What is more amazing is the fact that i run into old timers in different games from time to time. I have a feeling, and I think it’s more than a feeling, that the internet and the gaming community simply was much smaller back then. I meet a guy in Guildwars2 the other day that asked me if I was THE Albertus from ROI as he was from an American guild we were allied to back then. My kids jaw dropped at that point that their old man apparently was a serious gamer once.

In any case, I waste my time in Guildwars2 sometimes waiting on something that truly replaces Diablo of DAOC for me. I speak to Dennizon often on Discord. He is playing Diablo3 atm I think.

Hi there Albertus,

Indeed we are getting old 50 is getting closer and closer and have 3 sons now that have taken over dad's hobby:)
Still while life doesn't allow me to game as much as I used to the gamer in me will probably never die.

Sorry if this makes you feel old but when I joined ROI I was 12-13. Im 28 in 3 weeks! Mad how quick time goes but its great to still be able to keep in touch on here.
