Uthgard - DAoC classic style Freeshard

Uthgard, a DAoC classic (approx patch 1.65) like Freeshard has just announced the beta for the re-opening of the server, which will open towards the middle of May. I've toyed around on the odd freeshard before and Uthgard had the reputation for being the best, unfortunately when I found it it had already closed down for it's rebuild.

Just wondering who may be up for looking into some proper classic DAoC, it's still a great game after all these years. If anyone's interested, the website is here:

Beta will probably last a couple of months, then there will be a chgaracter wipe for the proper re-launch.

Would be good to not miss out playing with some Immortals due to server differences this time around

Hmmm that may very well be interesting to try out old friend. Not sure if i am compeltely rusty again after such a long time away from the game but 10 or more years of playing schould amount to something i hope hehe. I will look into it. Daoc is a game that i would still play if it wasnt for the ridiculous level of monthly pay they still ask for it...

Wow, I didn't expect to find this little board still alive.

Long time no see my old friends, I remember many of you by name even the ones that go back to our D1/D2 days. Sure was a nice surprise to find you again!

The Uthgard freeshard was relaunched recently as a classic pre TOA rvr server, and I've been playing a bit (actually a heck of a lot) there the last few weeks. It is quite simply great. All gameplay content is currently the old lands including old frontiers, and I believe the devs are working hard on implementing the SI landmasses as well, but so far the only SI content is the SI races and classes. It is also very lively! Lots of players active here with big scale rvr as well as fairly active Thidranki and Caledonia BGs.

So yeah, its free, theres not much in the way of bugs or lag issues, and deliciously nostalgic and definitely recommended to give a try for anyone feeling that old DAoC nostalgia poking at you. Its good times.

Ha Vadrigald, indeed its been a while. Some years ago i came across Phoenix in another game and we discussed a bit how unfortunate it was not to have a meeting place of sorts for those veterans that were around when the internet was young. Hence i activated this site again with a little history and small forum. A little corner of the internet for those old ROI vets to meet and leave a message or mourn those that were once playing with us and passed away.

In any case, all is well with you old friend i hope?
